A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM Auditions – 2012 Festival

The Delaware Shakespeare Festival is seeking actors for its 2012 summer production, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by David Stradley. Audition dates: Saturday, February 11 from 11am-5pm and Sunday, February 12 from 3-6pm. Please prepare a 1-2 minute Shakespeare monologue and bring picture/resume. Rehearsals begin June 12 and will be held on weeknights/weekend days. Production runs July 13-28 on the grounds of Rockwood Mansion Park in Wilmington, DE, with a tour performance in southern Delaware on August 2. To schedule an audition, please email 
auditions@delshakes.org. Appointments required. Auditions will be held at J. Alexander Productions, 301 A Street, Suite B, Wilmington, DE (directions emailed with audition appointment). College students may audition for Apprentice roles on a separate date (see below). Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend. All roles paid. DSF participates in the Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre. Please note: DSF does not provide artist housing. No phone calls please.

 

College Apprentice Company Auditions & Interviews


In association with its 2012 summer production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, DSF offers apprenticeships for college students who wish to start their careers before graduation. Apprentices work with the Festival’s professional directors, actors, designers, and staff to gain hands-on experience both on and off the stage. DSF offers performance, directing, production/stage management, and management/front-of-house apprenticeships. All apprenticeships besides management apprenticeships begin June 12, 2012. Managements apprenticeships begin July 7, 2012. Midsummer rehearses nights and weekends, and runs from July 13-28, with a tour performance in southern Delaware on August 2, 2012. All apprentices will be offered a series of Master Classes. Along with the professional DSF technical staff, ALL APPRENTICES will perform set-up and strike duties each day of tech and performances. Modest stipend. College credit may be available. Auditions for Acting Apprentices will be held on Saturday, February 25 from 10am-12:30pm. Interviews for non-performance positions will be held that afternoon from 1-4:30pm. Callbacks for Acting Apprentices will be held during that time as well. For more information or to obtain an audition or interview slot, please email apprentice@delshakes.org.
