“Why I Love DSF”: Kanako “Connie” Clarke

Each month leading up to the 2013 Festival, we will ask a different DSF audience member to share why they love DSF.

We know different people come to the Festival for different reasons, so we are expecting each answer to be unique.

Kanako “Connie” Clarke – Newtown Square, PA

We are the parents of one of the Brandywine Fiddlers who were invited to perform [before the show] at the Festival. Thank you for inviting us. The children had a wonderful time in front of the audience. On top of that, they received a perfect opportunity to expose themselves to a Shakespeare play.

Although I myself was once an artist, I never thought it would be appropriate to bring my eight-year old to a Shakespeare play. But I was forced to bring her with me because I had to bring my fiddler son to the pre-performance show. At the end, I found out that it is never to early for the children to experience the classical art form such as Shakespeare’s. They instantly and instinctively sense what is beautiful.

Here is to your hard work!
